- Age bands are a guide
- 0–24 months bands vary between makers by a wide margin. Where the maker gives height or weight, use that instead of the age.
- Buy one size up for gifts
- A garment that is slightly large gets worn for months. One that is slightly small never gets worn at all.
- Fabric and washing
- Cotton shrinks a little on the first wash; the label states the fabric and the wash. We do not add care instructions the maker has not given.
- Safety
- Anything with small detachable parts carries the maker's own age warning on the packaging. We reproduce it and do not soften it.
